When You Are Feeling Misunderstood: Struggling to communicate or feeling like others don’t truly “get” you can be deeply challenging. Mahua Biswas, the founder of Resource Owls, established the platform in February 2019 to empower individuals. The journey so far has not been easy. She gets to learn a lot about society and human behavior. She had to make a lot of changes in her work based on those realizations. Holding dual Master's degrees in Human Resource Management and Social Work, Mahua combines her expertise to create a meaningful impact. Her innovative platform has served thousands, offering the much-needed guidance to help individuals achieve their optimum potential. Mahua’s journey with Resource Owls has been deeply fulfilling, driven by her passion for uplifting others. By leveraging her skills in human resources and social work, she is building a community-focused initiative that fosters growth and opportunity.     • 1-to-1 Online Sessions With Facilitators: We are offering 1-to-1 online (Google Meet) sessions with experienced and highly skilled and, experienced facilitators. 
    • Safe and Non-Judgmental Environment: Our Let’s Talk sessions provide a confidential, welcoming space where you can express your deep-rooted thoughts and feelings freely, without any fear of judgment.
    • Option to Remain Incognito: You can discuss anything—big or small—in an absolutely confidential setting, helping you process emotions and challenges. You can choose to remain incognito by not revealing your face during sessions.
    • Experienced and Caring Facilitators: Highly experienced facilitators listen to you attentively, ensuring you feel heard, valued, and supported throughout the session.
    • Tailored Emotional Support: Sessions are customized to your needs, whether you are dealing with loneliness, isolation, or feeling misunderstood. We offer you a ground where you can learn to articulate and express yourself.
    • Inspiration and Growth: In Resource Owls, we encourage open conversations where your Facilitators will be your mirrors. We help you to discover “what you can be” instead of “what you are”.  We encourage you to embrace the better version of yourself.

Loneliness meaning, feeling alone or disconnected, even when you are surrounded by people. It’s a sense of emptiness or longing for meaningful connections. It can happen when you feel misunderstood, isolated, or lack close, meaningful relationships. It makes you feel emotionally distant or unsupported.

Social isolation is when someone has little or no contact with others, often feeling cut off from society. It can happen due to living alone, a lack of friends, or avoiding social activities due to some trauma. Eventually, it leads to disconnection from society.

Social withdrawal is when someone chooses to avoid social interactions and pulls back from relationships or activities. It can stem from feeling shy, anxious, or overwhelmed, leading to isolation and a lack of connection with others. Another of the most common reasons for social isolation is personal loss or trauma. It often causes loneliness.

What Not To Expect From an Emotional Support Session?

Our emotional support sessions are designed to help you rediscover connection and emotional well-being. These sessions aim to alleviate feelings of loneliness and foster a sense of belonging. Meanwhile, you need to know what you can not expect during these sessions. Below is the details list:

  • Not A Substitute for Therapy Session: Let’s Talk sessions are not a substitute for professional mental health therapy or counseling. While supportive, these sessions are not designed to provide immediate fixes for complex emotional or psychological issues. These sessions do not involve diagnosing complex mental health conditions or providing medical evaluations.
  • Not A One-Way Advice Service: Facilitators listen and guide; they may offer directive advice or suggest you exactly what to do. You are expected to follow that advice for the best outcome. The focus is on sharing and support, not engaging in arguments or debates. Sessions are flexible and participant-driven, and do not follow a rigid program or agenda.
  • Not Exclusive to Any Particular Group: While introverts are welcome, sessions are open to anyone seeking connection, not tailored solely to introversion. Let’s Talk fosters connection but is not a long-term social circle or friendship group. You would not be pressured to share more than you are comfortable with in a safe, non-judgmental space.
  • Not Available on WhatsApp/Email: Our WhatsApp/Discord on-demand Let’s Talk Sessions are available for 24×7. However, this service is exclusively available to our registered group members. This service is not available to others. 
  • Not Available for Free Service: WE DON’T OFFER ANY FREE SERVICE.

Social anxiety is feeling nervous or scared in social situations, like talking to people or being in familiar crowds. It can make you worry about being judged or embarrassed, leading to avoidance of social events and even family gatherings. Social anxiety leads to feelings of isolation or loneliness.

Emotional support is when someone listens, cares, and helps you feel understood during tough times. It’s like a friend offering kind words or a hug, making you feel less alone and more comforted when you are sad, stressed, or upset. Emotional support is not traditional mental health counseling. 

A loneliness epidemic is when many people feel lonely and disconnected from others in society. It happens due to less social interaction, busy professional lives, or overindulgence in technology. It is causing widespread feelings of isolation, sadness, and a lack of meaningful relationships in a large number of people.

Social phobia is an intense fear of social situations, like speaking or meeting new people. You worry about being judged or embarrassed, which can make you avoid others, feel anxious, and become isolated. Social phobia often leads to loneliness and discomfort.
